Ventspils University College Takes Part in Trading Mission to Shanghai


Rector of Ventspils University College (VUC) Kārlis Krēsliņš is going to participate in a trading mission for education professionals, which takes place in Shanghai and Ningbo, People’s Republic of China (PRC), and which is organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (IDAL) from October 26 to October 29. The mission is comprised of representatives from VUC, Turiba University, Riga International School of Economics and Business and Business administration (RISEBA), as well as board member of “Linearis Translations” Voldemārs Brēdiķis and the Head of the IDAL Representative Office in Shanghai and Ningbo, China, Kaspars Rožkalns.

Within the framework of the mission, the rector of VUC will meet with the representatives of various educational agencies and institutions in Shanghai and Ningbo, discussing possible cooperation, and will participate in China Education Expo – Shanghai 2017, which is organised annually and which attracts over 600 educational institutions from around 40 different countries across the globe.

Currently, VUC has already entered into mutual cooperation agreements with Ningbo University and Zhejiang Wanli University in China. For VUC the goal of the mission is to strengthen the existing cooperation ties and to attract new partners, in order to enter and reinforce VUC’s position in China – one of the largest student recruitment markets in the world. To enrichen the range of subjects offered in VUC, students and pupils of Ventspils are now able to study the basics of Chinese language and the Chinese culture, traditions and society with the help of teacher Ling Pan.
