How to apply

Application and registration for the Doctoral Degree studies:
In 2011/2012 Academic Year applicants can register for the following study programmes:
1. Interuniversity doctoral study programme “Business Administration” – 4 state-funded places;
2. Interuniversity doctoral study programme “Linguistics” – 3 state-funded places.

Application for the enrolment competition for doctoral studies:
1. Interuniversity doctoral study programme “Business Administration” – from 10th October until 4 p.m. on 5th December, 2011. Application in person at Ventspils University College: 101a Inženieru Street, Ventspils;
2. Interuniversity doctoral study programme “Linguistics” – from 10th October, 2011 until 12 p.m. on 13th January, 2012. Application in person at Ventspils University College: 101a Inženieru Street, Ventspils or by mail to: „Uzņemšanas komisija, Ventspils Augstskola, Inženieru iela 101, Ventspils LV-3601”, deadline 12th January, 2012.

Applicants have to file the following documents:
• the completed application form (download: business administration, linguistics);
• a cashier’s check certifying the payment of an application fee or a copy of the remittance order if paying by money transfer;
• 2 photos (3×4 cm) with applicant’s name and surname on the other side;
• a copy of the secondary education document and its supplement;
• a copy of the higher education document (Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree) and its supplements;
• Curriculum Vitae (CV);
• a report or set of publications in the relevant scientific field.

Documents can be filed Mo-Fr 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.:
• the study programme “Business Administration” – Room 311 (Faculty of Economics and Management secretary tel.: 63629653).
• the study programme "Linguistics" – Room 411 (Faculty of Translation Studies secretary tel.: 63629655).

Application fee has to be paid before filing the documents: 20 LVL if paying in Ventspils University College cashier’s office or 18 LVL if paying by money transfer:

Entrance examinations in doctoral study programmes:
1. Interuniversity doctoral study programme “Business Administration” – test and interview will take place at 6 p.m. on 7th December, 2011 in Room A108;
2. Interuniversity doctoral study programme "Linguistics" – interview on entrance report will take place at 12 p.m. 16th January, 2012 at Ventspils University College.

Registration for studies:
1. Interuniversity doctoral study programme “Business Administration” – from 19th December, 2011;
2. Interuniversity doctoral study programme "Linguistics" – on 23th January, 2012.

To register applicants have to:
• complete a form;
• show passport;
• sign a study agreement.

Beginning of the studies:
1. Interuniversity doctoral study programme “Business Administration” – 6th January, 2012;
2. Interuniversity doctoral study programme "Linguistics" – 3rd February.
