About the Faculty


The Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) has three bachelor’s study programmes (Computer Science, Electronics, and Ship Navigation Electronics) and two master’s study programmes (Computer Science and Electronics). The Information technology, computer hardware, electronics, telecommunications, computer control, and computer science study direction has been accredited for the maximum period of six years.

FIT has large new laboratories with modern equipment, and job-oriented study programmes ensure the preparation of highly qualified specialists.

The quality of education has been recognised by employers, foreign experts, graduates, and students.

To make the study programmes even more competitive, they are constantly being improved and supplemented. Foreign lecturers from Lithuania, Belarus, Estonia, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, and other countries participate in the faculty’s study programmes.

Ventspils University College actively attracts international students. The bachelor’s study programme in computer science and the master’s study programmes in computer science and electronics are on the international market.
