International Business and Export Management

About the study programme

The International Business and Export Management Master’s program gives students the opportunity to obtain two master’s degrees at once. Students who complete their studies are awarded both a master’s degree in social sciences and a master’s degree in management studies from the IMC University of Applied Sciences of Krems. This is the most highly rated study programme in Austria by employers.

Studies are organised on a modular basis so that employed people can participate in the lectures as well. The programme involves both local and foreign lecturers, including lecturers from the University of Applied Sciences in Krems who are actively involved in the study process.


The study programme has been designed to meet the requirements of the labour market both in Latvia and elsewhere in Europe. In this program, students develop a strategic mindset and improve their skills in international relations.

Upon completion of the programme, students will have gained in-depth knowledge and understanding of various concepts of export management and administration, emerging trends and innovations in international business and export management. Graduates of the programme have an in-depth understanding of strategic management related to international business and export management as well as the organization of business activities in various sectors and related methods and means.

The International Business and Export Management programme has the potential to improve the following skills and abilities:

  1. Ability to apply theories, methods, and problem-solving skills independently to provide highly-skilled professional services or research activities related to the management of local or international businesses or exports;
  2. Ability to argue and hold a reasoned discussion on complex and systematic aspects of international business and export management;
  3. Ability to take responsibility for the work results of a company’s staff groups and to analyse results;
  4. Ability to implement innovations in international business and export management.

Career opportunities

Following graduation, students have the opportunity to work in such areas as marketing and procurement, finance and insurance, risk management, market research, logistics, project management, financial consulting, quality management, supply chain management, and others.

Application for study places is open from 1 December 2017 until 10 August 2018.

  • certificates of previous education
  • Curriculum Vitae (in English)
  • letter of motivation (in English)
  • IELTS or TOEFL language certificate (if applicable)
