    study-aim

    To provide students with in-depth theoretical knowledge and to develop their research skills and abilities. To ensure training of competitive specialists for the national and international labour markets. To ensure training of specialists who will work for private economic entities in Latvia, in other EU member states and in countries outside the EU. To provide studies tailored to economic, cultural, and social needs. To provide academic master’s studies which correspond to standards of academic education and are based on theoretical scientific foundations.

    study-tasks

    To provide students with a set of theoretical knowledge and skills on matters regarding the selected language, culture, and intercultural communication as well as other fields that will allow students to successfully compete and adapt as quickly as possible to the work environment upon graduation, thus successfully adapting to work for administrative institutions in Latvia, the European Union, and other countries.
    To prepare students for further studies in doctoral study programmes in Latvia (including Ventspils University College’s and Liepāja University’s collaborative Linguistics doctoral study programme) and abroad by providing advanced research skills provided via courses on research methodology.
    To promote graduates’ competitiveness on the international labour market.
    To ensure the quality of education on the basis of the external quality assurance system of Latvia and on the internal quality assurance system of Ventspils University College by improving the methodological, scientific, material and technical support of the study process, increasing the qualifications of lecturers, and promoting cooperation with other Latvian and foreign higher education institutions.
    To ensure the use of students’ skills and abilities by analysing issues and cases and solving practical assignments.
    To improve students’ abilities to continuously develop their academic knowledge.
    To modify the content and teaching methods of the program in a timely manner in response to changes in the labour market and to accurately predict future changes.
