VUAS Lifelong Learning Centre has been implementing Interreg V-A Latvia-Lithuania Program 2014-2020 since September 2018 LLI-186 CREAzone 2.0. The aim of the project is to spread entrepreneurial ideas among young people and help to create 3-4 start-ups in the creative industries and related fields.
The second stage of the project, the so-called “PITCH IN”, is a hackathon-type training aimed at generating business ideas as well as developing and publicizing the team needed to implement the business idea. For two days at VUAS, young people from Kuldīga, Rēzekne and Jēkabpils were looking for answers about where to look for a successful business idea and how to concretize it, generated specific business ideas, formed teams and learned how to pitch their business idea.
The event was moderated by Iveta Cīrule, the head of the Creative Business Incubator of RISEBA and the founder of LTD “BIORGANIK5”, and Vita Brakovska, the head of the “ZINIS” association. Ruta Šenkevica, founder of the “RaMaLa” creative bread laboratory, Gvido Grīnbergs, chairman of the board of SIA “Aspired”, Helēna Koha, project manager of Ventspils Youth house, co-founder of “Big Event”, Roberts Gaižutis, Līva Vecvagare, leader of “Bucher Municipal” continuous improvement group, and Aleksandrs Bobrovs, founder of “Trempel”, also shared their experiences.
Young business ideas and teams were evaluated by a jury. The best-valued business ideas and teams were driven for further participation in the project, which will take place in early December in Lithuania.
